Introduction for ART F200X

Hello~ My name is Juanwara Cook. I've recently just switched back to an art degree after deciding chemistry isn't going anywhere, I can study it later. I am 24 years old and oil painting is one of my main hobbies. I also draw regularly and am a make-up artist in the works (I'd like to consider make-up an art form). I enjoy visiting art museums and exhibits when I can, it's very rare that I can as I normally live in Tok, Alaska. Currently I'm in Bangkok, Thailand regularly visiting my favorite drag bar and enjoying seeing the drag queens perform. Drag is probably my favorite performance art that I enjoy.

I enjoy Junji Ito's artwork and storytelling so I'd like to share one of my favorite manga frames and a video from one of my favorite film analysis channels.

  2. I love that you mention make-up being a form of art because I agree. It is interesting to see this form of art because for myself it looks very challenging. Also, I love that you see drag queens because they are so fun to watch! You and I might have a lot of similar interests in art, so I am excited to see what more you have to share this semester!

  3. Hi Juanwara! Astonishingly, you are pursuing art and embracing your creative passions. Oil painting, makeup artistry, and your love for drag performances sound like excellent outlets for expression! I think Junji Ito’s work is incredible—such a unique blend of storytelling and art. I hope you are having a fantastic time in Bangkok!
